The Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier was constructed by DCNS and launched in 1994. To this day, it is the only nuclear-powered carrier built outside of the United States Navy. DCNS also conducts all its maintenance, including major overhauls called Major Technical Shutdowns. The first MTS was done in 2007 and the next is scheduled for 2017.
